Inversion construction (cấu trúc đảo ngữ)

Cấu trúc thông thường của 1 câu là :chủ từ đứng trước động từ ,nhưng có trường hợp ngược lại: động từ lại đứng trước chủ từ .Trong trường hợp này người ta gọi là đảo ngữ
Đảo ngữ được sử dụng trong nhiều trường hợp ,thông dụng nhất là trong cấu trúc câu hỏi
ex:
he is nice
->Is he nice ?
Nhưng câu hỏi mà đảo ngữ là chuyện bình thường rồi ,ai mà không biết phải không các bạn ? Hôm nay mình học những câu mà không phải là câu hỏi nhưng lại có đảo ngữ mới lạ chứ !

Về hình thức đảo ngữ có thể chia làm 2 loại:

1) đảo ngữ như câu hỏi

Là hình thức đem động từ đặc biệt (hoặc trợ động từ )ra trước chủ từ.
khi nào dùng đảo ngữ như câu hỏi ?
+ khi gặp các yếu tố phủ định ở đầu câu
( not ,no,hardly,little,never,seldom , few ,only.....)
ex:
I never go to school late
Chữ never bình thường nằm trong câu thì không có chuyện gì xãy ra ,nhưng khi đem nó ra đầu câu thì sẽ có đảo ngữ
Never do I go to school late
+ khi có các chữ sau ở đầu câu
so ,such ,often , much ,many ,many a , tính từ
ex:
Many books did he read yesterday (many)
Beautiful are the trees in their autumn colors (tính từ )
The doctor was angry that he went away.
=> So angry was the doctor that .....( so)

2) Đảo ngữ nguyên động từ

Là hình thức đem nguyên động từ ra trước chủ từ (không cần mượn trợ động từ )
-khi nào dùng đảo ngữ loại này ?
Khi có cụm trạng từ chỉ nơi chốn ở đầu câu :
on the ....,in the.... ,here ,there...
ex:
His house stands at the foot of the hill
-> At the foot of the hill stands his house .(đem nguyên động từ stands ra trước chủ từ )
the bus came there
-> There came the bus(đem nguyện động từ came ra ,không mượn trợ động từ did)

lưu ý :trong cách này chủ ngữ phải là danh từ thì mới đảo ngữ được,đại từ không đảo ngữ
ex;
here came the bus
nhưng chủ từ là đại từ thì không được
here it came (không đảo came ra trước )

3) ĐẢO ngữ trong câu điều kiện

Loại này chỉ áp dụng riêng cho câu điều kiện mà thôi
Các chữ : HAD trong câu ĐK loại 3 ,chữ WERE , trong loại 2,chữ SHOULD trong loại 1 có thể đem ra trước chủ từ thế cho IF
EX;
If I were you, I would ....
= Were I you , I would....
If I had gone to school......
= Had I gone to school...
if I should go....
= Should I go.....

Inversion

I.Phân loại .

- Đảo toàn bộ：đưa cả bộ phận vị ngữ lên trước chủ ngữ .
Here comes the bus.
- đảo bộ phận：Đưa trợ động từ hoặc động từ tình thái lên trước chủ ngữ .
Has he gone to school?
- Note：Chủ ngữ là đại từ có trường hợp không đảo được .

II. Cách dùng


ĐẢO TOÀN BỘ


1.Trong câu với “There be .......”, “be” có lúc có thể đổi thành “ live , lie, stand” với ý chỉ trạng thái .
There is a boat in the river.
There stands a temple on the top of the hill.

2.Dùng trong các câu mở đầu bằng các phó từ “here, there, now, then, in， out， down， up, back, over ,away, off”.Trường hợp này chủ ngữ là đại từ thì không đảo .
Now comes my turn.
Here is a letter for you.
Then followed three days of heavy rain.
In came the teacher, and the lesson began.
Off went the horses.
Up went the arrow into the air.
Away they went.

3.Kết cấu giới từ chỉ nơi chốn đưa lên đầu câu để nhấn mạnh .
In the front of the lecture hall sat the speaker.
On the ground lay an old sick goat, which had gone into the cave to die.

4.Dùng trong câu nhấn mạnh bổ ngữ . Bổ ngữ đưa lên trước không chỉ để nhấn mạnh mà còn làm cho cấu trúc câu cân đối hơn .
Such was the story he told me.
Gone are the days when we had nothing to eat.

5.Dùng trong câu có dẫn lời nói trực tiếp .
“ You have made great progress this term.” said our teacher.
“Mr.Crossett,”said my father,”will you permit an old pupil to shake hands with you?”
“Why didn’t you join us!” asked our monitor .



ĐẢO BỘ PHẬN


1.Trong câu có các mệnh đề với “as, though, no matter how, however” . Thường đưa : n/adj./verb/adv lên trước .
Child as he is, she knows a great deal.
Youngest as he is , he studies best in our class.
However tired he is, he continues to work.
Again as he tired, he failed.
Hard as he works, he makes little progress.
Try as he does, she will never pass it.
Search as they would, they could find no sign.
Much as he likes the girl, he quarrels with her sometimes.
Young though he is, he has won the Nobel Prize.

2.Trong câu điều kiện lược “if ” đưa “were, had, should” lên đầu câu .
Were you a fish, the cat would eat you.
Had your father known this, he would have given you advice.

3.Câu mở đầu bằng các từ ngữ sau “ not, never, hardly, not only…but also, neither…nor, seldom, little, rarely, scarcely, nowhere, by no means，in no time, hardly/ scarcely….when, no sooner…than, not until,”
Never have I met him.
Hardly did I think it possible.
Not until midnight, did it stop raining.
Not until she took off the glasses did I recognize her
Scarcely had I got home, when it began to rain.
No sooner had he left home than it began to rain.
Not only does he like, but also he learns it well.
Not only I but also she likes English .
Neither has he called on her, nor will he do so.

4 .Nhóm câu mở đầu bằng các từ và cụm từ sau “often, always, once, many a time ,now and then, every other day
Often do I tell her about my life here.
Many a time has he helped me with my experiment.

5. Câu mở đầu bằng “0nly” và bộ phận trạng ngữ mà nó kết hợp .
Only in this way, can you learn English well.

Note :“0nly”ở đầu câu ,nhưng nó bổ nghĩa cho chủ ngữ hoặc tân ngữ thì không đảo .
Only the teachers are allowed to use the room.
Only him we could find in the room just now.

6. Trong câu hỏi .
What did the two cheats pretend to be doing?
What do you think the two cheats pretended to be doing?(chú ý)
What makes you so angry? (chú ý)

7.Cách nói lặp lại ý ,dùng “so, nor, neither”
He has finished his work, so have I.
You can’t do it, nor can I.

Note :
- nếu chủ ngữ là giống nhau , phía sau diễn tả ý “đúng thế” “đúng là như vậy” thì không đảo .
It is fine today, so it is.

- Phía trước phức tạp : Các chủ ngữ khác nhau - Có hai câu trở lên - vừa có khẳng định vừa có phủ định thì dùng cách nói sau :so it is/was with sb.//It is /was the same with sb//The same goes for sb .
Her mother is a doctor and works in the People’s Hospital. So it is with mine.

8 .Câu chúc mở đầu bằng “may”
May you have a good journey!
May you succeed!

9.Câu mở đầu bằng “so/such…that” chỉ mức độ .
So loudly did he speak that all of us could hear him clearly.
So angry was he that he couldn’t speak.
Such a noise was there that I couldn’t work

1. Đảo ngữ với NO và NOT
No+ N + auxiliary+S+Verb(inf)
Not any+ N+ auxiliary+ S+ verb(inf)
Eg :No money shall I lend you from now on
= Not any money shall I lend you from now on
2. Đảo ngữ với các trạng từ phủ định: Never, Rarely, Seldom, Little, Hardly ever,.....
Never/ Rarely/ Seldom /Little/ Hardly ever+ auxiliary+ S+ V
Never in mid-sumer does it snow
Hardly ever does he speak in the public
3. Đảo ngữ với ONLY
Only one
only later
only in this way
only in that way
only then + auxiliary+ S+ V
only after+ N
only by V_ing/ N
only when+ clause

Eg Only one did i meet her
Only after all gest had gone home could we relax

4. Đảo ngữ với các cụm từ có No

On no account + auxiliary+ S+ N
Under/ in no circumstances
For no searson
In no way
No longer
For no reason whall you play traunt
The money is not tobe paid under any circumstances
= Under no circumsstances is the money tobe paid
On no condition shall we accept their proposal
5. No soone.......... than.....
Hardly/ Bearly/ Scarely........ When/ before
No sooner had I arrived home than the telephone rang
Hardly had she put up hẻ umbrella before the rain becam down in torrents
6. Đảo ngữ với Not only....... but......also.....
Not only+ auxiliary+S+V but.... also..........
Not only í he gôd at E but he also draw very well
Not only does he sing well but he also plays musical instruments perfectly
7. Đảo ngữ với SO
So+ adj/ adv + auxiliary + S+V+ that clause
So dark is it that I can't write
So busy am I that I don't have time to look after myself
So difficult was the exam that few student pass it
So attractive is she that many boys run after her
8. Such+ be+ N+ that clause
Such is her intelligence that she can answer all questions in the interview
9. Đảo ngữ với until/ till+ clause/ adv of time+ auxiliary+ S+ V
I won't come home till 10 o'clock
=Not until/ till o'clock that I will come home
= It is not until 10 o'clock that I will come home
I didn't know that I had lost my key till I got home
= Not until/ till I got home did I know that I had lost my key
10. Đảo ngữ với No where+ Au+ S+V
No where in the VN is the cenery as beautiful as that in my country
No where do I feel as comfortable as I do at home
No where can you buy the goods as good as those in my country
11. Đảo ngữ với câu điều kiện
a, Câu đk loại 1: If clause = should+S+V
Should she come late she wil miss the train
should he lend me some money I will buy that house
b, Câu đk loại 2:If clause= Were S +to V/ Were+S
If I were you I would work harder =Were I you........
If I knew her I would invite her to the party= Were I to know her........
c, Câu đk loại 3 : If clause = Had+S+PII
If my parents hadn't encouraged me, I would have taken pass exam
= Had my parents not encouraged me...........
